Other information on the issue:    I had attempted to make a withdrawal of $200 four times from Bank of America ATM at Fairington Road Lithonia GA US but the ATM only dispense two times, for the other attempts it reported transaction errors but my GTB account was debited four times. Please Help!!!

FCMB / NIGERIA / ATM CARD / BANK DEBIT WITHOUT CASH DISPENSING

Other information on the issue:     My first attempt to use an FBN ATM inside E-Centre Yaba to draw the sum of N20,000 indicated dispensed on the machine but the dispensing compartment of the machine didn't open up to dispense my cash, after waiting for about 5minutes, I cancelled the transaction so that I can retrieve my FCMB Debit MasterCard. I called the attention of an officer of FBN from their branch located in the same building. He followed me there and right in his presence, another customer got his cash trapped in the same ATM. He advised me to go to my bank to lodge the complaint in order for the wrongful debit on my account to be reversed. Thereafter, the FBN officer corrected the error on the machine and I was able to make a withdrawal of N20,000 from the machine. I called my branch to lodge the complaint on the 17th of April 2014 and I was told my money will be credited. When I didn't get the credit, I went back to my FCMB Adeola Hopewell branch on the 30th of April 2014 and I was promised that the debit will be reversed no later than 7th of May 2014. Still I didn't receive any credit reversing the wrongful debit on my account. Since I have lost hope in the branch resolving my issue, I called the FCMB Contact Centre today May 8, 2014 to recount my ordeal and I was promised another 5 working days for the reversal to be effected. As soon as I got wind of the assistance I can get from GBIN, I decided to come through your office as my only source of succor.

First Bank of Nigeria / NIGERIA / Unprofessional Act / Blocking a customer's email

Other information on the issue:       This complaint is actually not about the amount unduly charged on my account because I already forgave the two instances, but I have to use this medium being one medium by which I think I can communicate with First Bank now.

I am laying this complaint because my email addresses: have been blocked from being able to communicate with firstcontact.

I observed this occurrence after I made my displeasure known to them by email because of repeated undue charges on my account for SMS alerts, even after I had supplied their office with an SMS deactivation mandate, as I was requested to do, and I was notified that the SMS alert function had been removed from my account.

I believe anybody would be aggravated if his or her account is being unduly charged, no matter how small the amount may be, for a service that was not mandated.

After observing that any email I send to them through my usual email address is no longer going through, I used another email address to send them a mail, and the mail went through. I received a response, but after that, that second e-mail address was also blocked! Now none of my email is getting through to them.

I will please like to use this forum to get this issue to the attention of some high ranking officials in First Bank who will be able to address it.

The issue is, presently I reside permanently in US and before I left Nigeria I had already certified First Bank as the bank for remittance of most of my funds, including e-dividend payment from about 18 Companies in Nigeria with which I have shareholdings. I will need to maintain communication with First Bank on this basis, and it will be cumbersome to have to be contacting them by phone every time.

Kindly let the bank know about this unprofessional attitude of blocking a customer just because they did something wrong and the customer laid a complaint.
